The client portal is for existing clients who use a computer and  have an active tax return created with the tax preparer.

 

The portal allows communication directly with and into the tax return. To access your portal you must have an exact match for the social security number, mobile phone number and email address that is listed in your current account. Your tax preparer will notify you by email when the portals are up for the new tax year.

When the portals are up for the new tax year you will receive an invitational email. This invitation will contain the link that will link the tax return to your portal. The invitation will come from TaxStatusNow.com and the subject line will be Your Secure Portal Has Been Created. You click the link and are taken to the portal where you will complete your registration and select a new user name and password.

The taxpayer uses the My Files area of the portal to upload documents to send to the tax preparer. Click Upload, locate the document on the computer, or drag and drop it in the box provided. Then click Upload again. A window will appear letting you know the document was uploaded.

Signature files and other documents from the tax preparer will be displayed in the files From My Preparer section of the portal. To access these files, click View Files. If a document needs to be signed it will have a button  Add a Signature next to the file name. To then sign a document it will open in the Edit Signature window where you can use the mouse to sign; select Save to keep the signature. Select Back to return the signature document to the tax preparer
